I’m Evon, an Empowerment Coach, Author and have been a Holistic Practitioner for over 20 years. I specialize in Empowering women and men to tap into their intuition, strengthen their internal belief system, get out of their own way and create a life they actually get excited about.

We’re an Afrikan Family of 3 who have been on an Unschooling (aka Interest-Led) journey for over 10 years. I’m E, my oldest daughter is KK and my youngest daughter is G. KK is now 25 and living on her own, G is now 18, and recently off to college. I started Homeschooling them at the same time we started delving into an Unschooling (aka Interest-Led) lifestyle. As a Single Mom that has only recently been diagnosed with Mental Illnesses (2017 – but suffered w/ symptoms for the past 20 yrs): PTSD, Generalized Anxiety Disorder, Bi-Polar Disorder and Major Depression Disorder, I’ve been blessed to learn many lessons and am honored to continue to learn. I’ve been sharing various resources and info about our lifestyle over the years and thought, as we’re headed to a new part of our lives, now would be a good time to create a “home” online and share, in one place. Here’s hoping you may find a bit of value in our story.

The Short of It:
*As of this year, 2020, we’ve been living an evolving Unschooling (Interest-Led) Lifestyle for the last 10 yrs and began officially Homeschooling(educating outside of government-run school systems) at the same time.*When I first discovered this concept and started researching principles surrounding it, it became a logical choice as I was able to see the multiple ways it could benefit my daughters.*The principles that have stood out to me include recognizing:

*Children are intelligent and are consistently learning from conception
*Children are born w/ intuition intact and deserve being encouraged to trust their intuition from birth (by having their intuition be trusted by their parents)
*Children have rights, deserve to be afforded those rights, and for those rights to be respected, as any other aged human does
*Children are autonomous beings and deserve to have their autonomy protected and respected
*How important it is to observe our children regularly, stay in close contact and communication w/ them to determine their evolving interests and learning styles vs allowing society to dictate to us what it thinks our children should know and be “taught”
*Children can use support and facilitation of expressed interests, from their parents, w/out parents convincing themselves Children need to be “taught” anything or that Unschooling is something to do that involves “teaching” anything.
